1. Who issues violation notices or citations from the City?

Code Compliance is responsible for ensuring members of the community abide by all City ordinances.

2. I’ve received a violation, how long do I have to rectify the issue?

You have 10 days to rectify the issue. Always contact Code Compliance to inform them of your progress so we can document it and work with you to reach compliance.

3. What are the most common types of violations?

The most common types of complaints are high grass and weeds, sign in the right-of-way, work without a permit, outdoor storage, and parking on an unimproved surface.

4. Can I submit a complaint anonymously?

Yes, all complainant information is kept anonymously.

5. Where can I submit a complaint?

You can submit a complaint by calling 940-648-241 ext. 111, by sending an email to Code@cityofjustin.com, or by submitting a complaint online through iWorQ.

6. What happens when I submit a complaint?

Once a complaint has been received, Staff will investigate the complaint to see if there are any code violations. If the complaint is found to be violating code the City will go through the requisite process to rectify the issue.
