2023 BOND - PROPOSITION D IS PASSED

JUSTIN, TX, NOVEMBER 10, 2023 – Today, the Justin City Council extends heartfelt gratitude to the residents of our city. It is with immense appreciation that the City Council thanks the community for their unwavering support of our Fire Department and their resounding approval of the bond proposition to construct a new fire station.

The Justin Community Volunteer Fire Department has long been the backbone of our community's safety and well-being; responding to emergencies with courage and dedication. Over the years, the demands on our fire department have grown, and their commitment to protecting our lives and property remains unwavering. In a recent display of unity and support, the community came together to voice their approval for a crucial need; a testament to their understanding of the vital role our Fire Department plays in ensuring the safety and security of Justin.

This bond will pave the way for the construction of a new fire station, equipped with the latest technology and facilities that will enable our firefighters to continue serving with the utmost efficiency and effectiveness. The new fire station project will not only provide our firefighters with the tools they need but will also ensure that response times are minimized, ultimately benefiting the lives and properties of our citizens. This investment demonstrates our commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and emergency response. Fire Chief Matthew Mitchell stated, "This is a remarkable moment for the City of Justin and the Justin Community Volunteer Fire Department. Our community has demonstrated remarkable unity and commitment to our shared safety and well-being. By approving this bond, we are investing in the future of our city, ensuring that our Fire Department has the resources they need to carry out their critical mission with excellence. I want assure our citizens that we will continue to provide the exceptional service you have come to expect and will endeavor to maximize the new facility to achieve operational efficiencies and effectiveness".

Councilmember Ricky Jones said, "I am inspired by the unity and resilience of our community. The support for this bond reflects the strength of our city, where neighbors help neighbors, and together we make Justin a safer and better place. I want to thank everyone who played a part in this achievement, from the residents who voted for the bond to our dedicated firefighters who continue to protect us day in and day out."
